Think of Clapham Junction and ask yourself what comes to mind. More particular, think of Northcote Road. Chances are you have a mental image of bohemian bars, Australian expats and 20 somethings making a fresh start in London. But did you know, this street has a more mellow side.

If you travel towards the south of Northcote, you'll find a plethora of relaxing bistros. Two of which offer an easy going activity that gets your creative juices flowing. One of which is the Pottery Cafe, and a few doors down is Biscuiteers.

I visited last year and found the latter is a great place to take a date, family member or oven just a friend to try out something new! Here you'll be given an option to decorate your very own biscuits with icing. Said cookies come in a variety of shapes, so you're bound to have fun in using your imagination in what to paint. For example, you may choose to spruce up a person shape.

It was easy to see that visitors will never be stuck for inspiration. Dotted across the diner are pre-decorated biscuits creatively made by the talented staff. All of which tend to reflect the current season. So if you visit during Halloween, Christmas, Easter etc, you'll no doubt find something festive and inspiring.

Getting creative with food is a fun and delicious thing to do. I found the staff are very friendly and will be sure to go the extra mile to cater for your dietary needs. If you're vegan then you'll want to avoid the icing. But a quick call in advance will ensure a few snacks are ready for you. It worked for me.

The venue offers fancy packaging for your new creations. So if you're keen on making a gift for others, there will be options to present it in style.

All in all, Buiscetteers is an enjoyable activity and I highly recommend it. A good idea would be to combine your visit with a trip to the Pottery Cafe. When collecting your crockery a week later, you can kill two birds with one stone and stopping by Biscuiteers as well.

It's an awesome place... And that's how the cookie crumbles (no appologies for the pun)!
