Why do us men love a good toy gun battle? Whether it's through video games, paintball or just plain messing around with an orbital sander. There's something within our psyche that makes us think we're in a Vietnam movie.

Many of us who saw the recent Star Wars movie will have had a secret blaster battle while indoors... And the reason, life is awesome when you're a big kid at heart!

A great place I recommend to release your inner child is at Star Command Laser Tag!

The battle field is made up of multiple levels in dark sci-fi theme arena. Players can zap enemies through holes in the wall or even from high vantage points. Just be sure to take cover and protect your teammates.

When players have been shot, guns tend to be deactivated for 10 seconds. After then they will be able to get back into the game. Giving you enough time to hold your "dying" mate and shout "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!" like you see in every war film.

I found one hour in the futuristic war zone to fly by. The venue offered a selection guns. The range of rapid fire, solo shot and grenade rifles adds to the excitement of saving the universe.

Although it is appealing to children, a large number of laser soldiers are adults in their 20s and 30s. Party packages are available which are ideal for stag and hen dos. So don't let your childhood memories of quasar put you off. The activity is a lot of fun for us grown ups!

After all, the winter is lame. The short days are lame. The drizzle and the cold... It's all lame. So what better time to get locked and loaded? Call your squadron/friends, strap up and and pretend you're in a galaxy far far away!
