The importance of booking time off to enjoy an adventure around London

So you saw the film Ferris Bueller's Day Off? Ever thought to yourself, I aught do something like that? Well that little voice in your head is right - you should!

London has so much to offer during working hours! From museums, theatre, comedy and all kinds of activities, it's all here. Heck, you can even outdo your film's counterpart seeing as modern London comes across as more varied than 80s Chicago!

While I'm not advocating skiving, it's important to recharge your batteries. So ask your boss for time off if you need to. There's always the option of annual leave or flexy time (if you're lucky). Having this one day for yourself is good for your mental health. We all need to energise ourselves!

Plus, it feels great when you know you'd usually be hard grafting in an office somewhere. For once, it'll be nice to not think of your average duties while you kick back with a cold beer by the Thames.

So make the most of this amazing city on a random weekday! Remember, you chose to be in London to live, not to work! Matthew Broderick's character inspired me, so here are a few snaps of my adventure.

Getting my mitts on an actual meteorite at the Royal Observatory!

Always good to soak up some culture at the British Museum. This place is simply gorgeous from the inside!

Shameless selfie as I explore a creepy tunnel under the ground

Joining a friend to finish a "hard working day" by the Thames!

Getting together with another mate at the Southbank Centre for "one for the road" - Consider myself rested and ready to get cracking at the office!
