Golf isn't the same without a stegosaurus or a windmill. A walk across a regular course is nice. But it can't beat the joy of scoring a hole-in-one across a model suspension bridge.
When it comes to mini golf, London has it all. Drinks, dark rooms, dragons and dinosaurs, it's all here! The city's variety is on par with all you could wish for from crazy golf experiences!
And you know what makes this activity even more fun? Alcohol! A number of London's courses are in pubs. Impressing your mates as a "golf master" is more enjoyable with a nice cold beer on the side. Although some courses are suitable for kids, some are strictly for adults.
If you're reading this on a typical wet British day, then don't worry. A few venues are indoors, meaning you can putt your balls through tunnels and loop-to-loops without a drop of rain.

If you're looking for an experience with a little bite then this is the place for you. The decor is simply amazing! The course is complete with waterfalls, swamps, caves and moving dinosaurs.
When it comes to prehistoric settings, I found no stone was left unturned. Even smaller details like the Jurassic Park theme tune and the roar of a T-rex adds to the magic of this experience.

Location: The city (indoors)
Price: £10.00 - £13.00
Nearest station: Aldgate East
This is probably the classiest crazy golf course you'll go too.To me, the holes aren't too challenging or varied. But the venue more than makes up for this with it's fancy decor. Golfers needn't worry about going to the bar while playing a round. Friendly staff are on hand for waiting services while you swing away.
Located just opposite the Gherkin, Swingers could make for a addition for a date night! And for just £10.00 a game, it's a bargain!

Location: Croydon (outdoors)
Price: See website
Nearest station: Norwood Junction
Dragon slayers can putt balls among monster footprints, caves and a dragon tail. One hole even includes a massive castle turret.
Dragon quest is a fantastic venue for kids. Budding knights can enjoy the day with toy swords, axes and daggers at the gift shop.

Locations: Clapham, Walthamstow, Brixton, Dalston and Hackney (indoor and outdoor venues vary, see website)

Found in pubs across the city, Plonk Golf is a lot of fun. Obstacles in indoor venues tend to be luminous in darkened rooms., so just remember to choose lighter coloured balls.
The course in Clapham is part of the many activities in the Games Room. Take some loose change and blast away at some retro video games while you're there.

Location: Northolt (outdoors) Price: Varies, see website Nearest station: Northolt
Another option for dino themed adventure golf is available in London. Residents in West London can enjoy a similar experience to Jurassic Encounter. Can you survive 18 holes in a lost world? For those who have worked up a monster appetite, why not dine at the West London Golf Centre Restaurant afterwards?
