The city hosts some of the best museums in the world. From the wonders of the science museum to the awesomeness that is the British Museum. The Big Smoke has it all!

But did you know there's one spot nestled in the East End that could give you a shiver or two. Presented by the Last Tuesday Society, The Viktor Wynd Museum of Curiosities is can be found in the bar's basement. For cheep price, you can access some of London's more creepier exhibitions.

Just stepping into this cellar, I felt like I was taking a trip into a Victorian underworld. The museum consists of a very small space. The items on show are crammed closely together, making you physically up close and personal with what's on display.

Skeletons

If you ask me, many items on show aren't for the faint hearted. Taxidermy, human remains, photos from freak shows, happy meal toys and skeletons can all be found here. When I visited, the venue allowed guests to get up close and personal with snakes, spiders and lizards. Thus making extra hairs on my arms stand on end. Events also include story telling and workshops. Find out what is happening this week:

If you have a taste for all things dark and creepy then this could be for you. Those of a sensitive nature may prefer to enjoy a cocktail upstairs.

Wondering the museum will likely take you no more than 15 minutes. However this short time will certainly dictate the conversation with friends over the pub table.

If you're in the area, I'd say take a visit.
