Gallery - Donald Trump Protest in London

Feels like yesterday when the orange president visited the UK in 2018. Fitting that it was Friday 13, a day for all things creepy, hideous and monstrous... Seems to me that this self proclaimed "stable genius" ticks all boxes!

During his stop over last July, he came with the belief that "I think they like me over there". Anyone with eyes could see things were to the contrary. London came out and said in no uncertain terms to f**k right off! A huge protest was organised to speak out against his behaviour and the Prime Minister's decision to invite him.

Campaigners for antifacisim, climate change, human rights and others marched from Portland Place to Trafalgar Square. It was estimated that 250,000 people were in attendance... A lot more in attendance than his "yuge" inauguration.

The rally was organised by Stop Trump and speakers included Jeremy Corbyn, David Lammy, Caroline Lucas, Owen Jones and more. The event had a festival feel and from what I saw, everyone was warm and welcoming to one and other.

The key message from many Londoners was that "The Donald" is not welcome here! And rightfully so! Our great city is a hot bed of multiculturalism, pluralism and respect for other people's views. We mostly didn't vote for Brexit and you can be sure as hell we would't approve of the politics of the current US President!

Here are a few images I captured that day. A good protest would never be complete without amusing banners and a carnival like spirit. I've never felt more proud of my city!
